Best Spring/Summer Kimonos on the high street and online

Anyone else do that thing here they become borderline obsessed with an item and they can’t stop on a desperate search of the high street until they find it?

Sometimes, said item doesn’t even seem to exist and you end up waiting months for the fashion designers to catch up with your dreams.

This year’s searches thus far (lest we forget it’s only 3 months in) include an embroidered straw bag, kitten mules, an a line midi skirt, statement sweatshirt and pink coat. I know, I’m ridiculous.

But I know I ain’t alone!

With spring FINALLY on the horizon, there’s another item I’m beginning to lust after. The perfect kimono jacket.

There are always options in the stores as we head into summer, but this year there seem to be some really great pieces. Is it finally time for me to give this tried-and-tested summer trend a go?

For anyone else pondering this question (#firstworldproblems) here are some options I’ve found. Prices start from just £20, so there really is a kimono jacket out there for everyone.

Happy shopping! (Click on the images to buy)

Embroidered….

Florals, pastel shades and bird prints are always going to be a winner for spring. This Asos kimono (£55) is gorgeous, perfect if you’re looking for a jacket to wear over a dress for evening, too

Jazz up a white tee and a pair of jeans….

With a lovely piece like this Lily and Lionel jacket, £175. Guaranteed to make running errands feel more like a stroll down Hollywood Boulevard! Yes, £175 is a lot. But if you’re looking for a ‘wear forever’ piece, rather than a ‘wear for one summer’ piece, this one’s for you. Plus, this pattern is never going out of fashion.

The short one….

Don’t like the long look? How cute is this little throw-on from New Look? Only £16 too. This would be great for layering now and light enough to wear over a cami or bikini in the summer

Or, if you’re tall, there’s this lovely short pink one from Topshop Tall…

If you don’t like too much colour….

Then this little number, again from New Look, might be the answers to your kimono dreams (and also under £20)

If you DO like colour….

Then yellow is *the* colour of the season. Two options here, this first one from River Island (£65)

And the second from Boohoo, £22 (this comes in green and blue as well)

Weekend vibes….

This one has slouchy fit and a cord tie waist, making it absolutely perfect for weekend brunching…might have to leave this River Island page subtly open in front of the other half and start hinting about my birthday.

Zara (of course)…..

Find me a woman mid-20s or older who does not love Zara. And this spring they are KILLING IT. I’ve actually got to stop myself from going in there, because it’s like ‘hello, PLEASE TAKE ALL MY MONEY.’

Of course Zara is going to have an amazing fringed embroidered kimono. Of course (£69.99)

Whites and pinks….

This is from Topshop (£45) looks like springkimono 14
